3 men docked over alleged assault, criminal conspiracy
Three men-Emmanuel Felix, Emmanuel Paul, and Emmanuel Francis, were on Tuesday arraigned in a Gudu Upper Area Court, Abuja, for alleged assault and criminal conspiracy.
The defendants of Monkey village, Abuja, were docked on charges bordering on criminal conspiracy, theft and assault.
The prosecutor, Fidelix Ogbobe, told the court that one Christopher Elisha of Apo Resettlement, Abuja, reported the matter at the Durunmi Police Station on July 4.
He said that when the complainant went to see a friend at Monkey village on the said date, the defendants conspired and beat him up and inflicted injuries on his head.
According to him, the defendants stole the complainant’s cell phone valued at N25, 000 and N10, 000 cash.
He said that the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 97, 287 and 265 of the Penal Code.
The defendants pleaded not guilty, while the judge, Alhaji Umar Kagarko, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50, 000 each, and one surety each in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Aug. 17 for hearing.
