Bindow inaugurates Adamawa Debt Management Committee
Gov. Mohammed Bindow of Adamawa on Wednesday inaugurated the debt management committee to be headed by the Deputy Governor. Martins Babale.
Bindow, while inaugurating the seven-member committee in Yola, said that the move was necessary for the management of both external and internal debts for the state.
He urged the committee to work in line with laid down laws regulating debt management office, urging it to be responsive.
He also stated that the inauguration of the committee was in line with the Debt Management Act.
Responding on behalf of the committee, Babale thanked the governor for having confidence in him.
He said that the Bindow administration had maintained clean records of loans committed by both state and local governments.
He promised that the committee would discharge its mandate in accordance with its terms of reference.
It was reported that other members of the committee include Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Accountant General of the state and Chairman, State Planning Commission.
Others are Commissioner for Finance, Special Adviser to the Governor on Budget, Planning and the Director-General of the Adamawa State Debt Management Office.
