No time frame for next Putin-Trump meeting – Kremlin

It is not yet known when exactly Russian President Vladimir Putin would meet his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump after their first encounter earlier this month, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Thursday.

“There are no time frames outlined for new meetings, so there are no estimates or initiatives. But at the same time, of course, there are chances that the next meeting will take place sometime,” Peskov told reporters.

Peskov also said Putin and Trump discussed the issue of adoptions a the G20 summit dinner on July 7.

“I can confirm indeed this topic was touched upon. I cannot say more than that,” Peskov told reporters following U.S. media revelations of a second undisclosed meeting on the G20 sidelines in Hamburg on July 7 and July 8.

Peskov reiterated his comments to Russia’s Channel One late on Wednesday that the dinner conversation between Putin and Trump was not a “secret meeting”.

When asked whether the law banning adoptions of Russian children by US citizens could be reconsidered, the Kremlin spokesman said “this is not under discussion.”
