Rangers declare player, Daniel Etor, missing
The management of Rangers International FC, Enugu, has declared its striker, Daniel Etor, missing.
The club’s Director of Media and Public Relations, Foster Chime, made this known in a statement on Saturday in Enugu.
Chime said that the player absented himself from training and providing his services without permission.
“Daniel Etor’s whereabouts now is unknown and efforts to locate or communicate with him had been futile.
“The player, according to the club’s coaches, alighted from the official club bus on their way back from Ilorin, where they played league match with ABS FC of Ilorin the previous day and eloped without trace,’’ he said.
Chime said that the management had on Thursday sent a letter to that effect to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for its information.
He said the management had decided that the player’s salary might be withheld, while considering other punitive measures against him for flouting the camp rules and travelling out without official permission.
Chime recalled that Etor had earlier been fined N20,000 by the club’s Chief Coach, Innocent Agbo, for breaking the camp’s rules.
He said that Etor then left the camp and later came back at mid-night by jumping the fence a day before the team travelled on July 22 to Ilorin for the league match against ABS FC on July 23.
