NiMet predicts cloudy, sunny weather for Tuesday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy weather conditions over the Central States on Tuesday morning with prospect of thunderstorms and light rains over parts of Abuja, Minna, Bida and Lafia.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook released by its Central Forecast Office (CFO) on Monday in Abuja, also predicted prospects of thunderstorms with precipitation over Kaduna and Jos later in the day.

It added that the region would have day and night temperatures in the range of 26 to 32 degrees Celsius and 17 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.

The agency predicted cloudy morning with chances of rains over Southern states of Eket, Calabar, Portharcourt and Warri with day and night temperatures of 28 to 33 and 21 to 23 degrees Celsius.

It also predicted thunderstorms with moderate to heavy rains over inland and coastal areas of Enugu, Onitsha, Awka, Owerri, Ilorin, Oshogbo and Akure later in the day.

According to NiMet, Northern states will experience cloudy morning with thunderstorms and rains over Sokoto, Kebbi and Maiduguri with day and night temperatures of 31 to 34 and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.

“In the afternoon, Kano, Zaria, Bauchi, Gombe and Katsina are expected to have thunderstorms with moderate rains.

“Increasing level of moisture and energy is expected to produce thunderstorm and rain showers over some part of the country in the next 24 hours,” it predicted.
