Mani quoted the leader of the five-man medical team that conducted the outreach, Dr Ubani Chinemeze, as having expressed satisfaction at the success recorded during the exercise.
Chinemeze disclosed that that more than 70 per cent of the beneficiaries of the programme suffered trachoma, glaucoma, cornear ulcer and allergic conjunctivitis, among others.

Ubani, however, said other patients who required surgeries were referred to the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital in Sokoto.
He called for engagement of more eye Specialists in the country so that many more eye patients could access available health facilities and get cured of their ailment.
Some of the beneficiaries- 80-year-old Alhaji Muhammad Namadina, 40-year-old Hajiya Asma’u Abubakar and Alhaji Isa Abdullahi commended the senator for the gesture.
They urged other philanthropists to take a cue from the Senator.
