APC set to win Gombe by-election Aug. 19 – Ag. Secretary
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Gombe State Chapter says it is set to win the seat of Dukku North Constituency in the Aug.19 bye-election into the state House of Assembly.
Malam Kasim Maigari, Acting Secretary of the party, stated this in an interview with journalists in Gombe on Tuesday.
Our correspondent reports that the seat remains vacant a as result of the death of Gambo Kabade of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who died in June 2017.
He said that the party had the confidence to win the election because Dukku North remained an APC catchment area.
“We have prepared well and everybody knows that Dukku North is an APC catchment area, it was forcefully rigged during the 2015 General Elections.
“This time, we are assuring our supporters that nobody will be there to turn down our votes”, he said.
He said that APC was a well known politician and accepted by the people, adding that he emerged under free fair and credible primaries.
“We have three aspirants and they all accepted the outcome because the primaries were transparent and conducted before everybody.
“After the exercise, the other aspirants congratulated him, whenever he is going for campaign they all go together,” he said.
Maigari called on the party supporters to come out enmasse on the day of election to vote for the party and remain peaceful before, during and after the election.
