Alhaji Ladan Baba, the Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kano state has charged the staff of the scheme to complement the Federal Government’s efforts in promoting national unity.

He gave the charge on Monday in Kano during a one-day in-house training organised by the NYSC office for its field officers.

It was reported that over 90 staff selected from the 44 Local Government Areas of the state participated in the workshop.

According to Baba, the training was aimed at inducting the officers on their responsibilities to the corps members posted to the state for their one year mandatory service.

“One of the purpose of the service year is to foster unity in the country through posting corps members to other states or region to serve.

“Therefore, the NYSC officials whose one of their responsibilities is to guide the corps members need to receive more training to enhance their capability in discharging their functions effectively”, he said.

He said the training would also enable the staff to generate and sustain effective hierarchical structure, communication, coordination and cooperation within and outside the organisation for optimal performance.

“The training will also to broden the scope of operations of the NYSC inspection officers on the field towards achieving higher performance.

“Some of these staff have never undergone such training since they were recruited, therefore it will assist them to have more knowledge and experience of their duties.

“Those that were opportuned to undergo such training before, need additional experience due to their new assigned He, “Baba said.

The Coordinator called on the participants to utilise the opportunity to deliver efficient and effective services to the NYSC in particular and the country in general.

“You should also use this opportunity to adequately prepare for your upcoming 2017 promotion examination”, he said.
