Police pledge hitch-free independence celebration in Enugu
The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr Danmallam Mohammed, has assured members of the public of his command’s readiness to ensure smooth and hitch-free independence day celebration.
Danmallam made the pledge in Enugu on Friday while speaking with our reporter.
According to him, all hands are on deck, adding that the command is collaborating with other sister security agencies and relevant stakeholders for a smooth celebration in the state.
The commissioner, however, advised members of the public to continue to be law abiding and avoid taking laws into their hands.
“Members of the public should be law abiding, be ready to partner with the police by volunteering useful and timely information,’’ he said.
The police boss also urged the people to report to the nearest police station any threat to peace and security in their environment and wished them successful celebration.
Danmallam also advised members of the public to be security conscious, reminding them of the availability of the command’s distress call lines and social media platforms to reach police operatives instantly.
“You can use our distress call numbers as follows: 08032003702, 08075390883, 08086671202 and 08098880172.
“You can also hook-up with the command on its social platforms; on face book @nigeriapoliceforceenugustatecommand and on twitter @PoliceNG_Enugu.’’
