NIS begins migration to IPPIS
The Nigeria Immigration Services (NIS) on Thursday began its migration to the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS), our correspondent reports.
The exercise took off with the enrollment of the Comptroller General of the Service, Mr Muhammad Babandede, into the IPPIS at the service headquarters in Abuja.
It was reported that the Accountant General of the Federation, Mr Ahmed Idris, who led a team from his office, supervised the exercise.
Speaking after his enrollment, the NIS boss said the development would go a long way in checking “some anomalies in the staff administration of the service’’.
He said, “Although we don’t have issues of nonpayment of salaries to our members of staff, we are glad that the Accountant General has come to enroll us into the system.
The accountant general said he was happy that all the paramilitary agencies in the country were cooperating with the government to ensure that they keyed into the IPPIS.
“Many other government agencies have already been enrolled; our next stop is the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
“However, we are very ready to ensure the enrollment of all the paramilitary agencies in the country into the IPPIS,’’ Idris said.(
