Kogi United Feeder’s Coach, ‘Isah Adamu Oluwe’, dies at 40
The Head Coach of Kogi United Feeder Team, Mr Isah Adamu, popularly called ‘Oluwe’ is dead.
A brother to the deceased, Mr Tanimu Adamu, told our reporter in Lokoja that Adamu, 40, died in the early hours of Monday at his residence in Lokoja.
Taminu, who is the eldest of the family, said Adamu died at about 5:00am after a brief illness.
He said the death of his brother was a great lost to the family, saying that the coach is survived by his father, mother, wife and three children.
Adamu was a former defender and captain of the Confluence State team before he was drafted to the club’s youth team in 2015.
He played for NUB Kaduna, FC Lokoja, Kogi United and Confluence Beach Team.
He guided the Feeder team of Kogi United to win numerous grassroots competitions including the Tiyu Sports Competition.
He was also the YSFON coach who guided Kogi State U15 team to the final of this year’s Ramat Cup in Kano.
The Coordinator, Kogi United Feeders, Alhaji Yahaya Keller, described Adamu’s death as “shocking and unfortunate.’’
Keller said he was a dedicated and thorough bred coach who has impacted the team with his leadership qualities and technical efficient.
Adamu had since been buried according to Islamic rites.
