Parents reject polio vaccine in Kano over fear of monkeypox
Rumour Spreads from various perspectives of Monkey Pox reported cases in some 7 southern states was on threshold of hampering the just concluded round of Immunization Plus Days IODs against Polio virus in Sabon Gari neighbourhoods of Fagge local government area of Kano State.

A vaccinator interviewed in Sabon Gari, who craved for anonymity, confirming that most of Houses visited declined to allowed their children to take the vaccines in fear of the widespread panic of Monkey-Pox viruses trending in some states.
He also stated most of the parents met during the routine exercises admitted that they are scared of the strange ailments reportedly emerged in some quarters.
Some of the parents contacted admits that the only option to clear their doubt about the current state of the situation is to have confirmation from their heads.
When contacted for confirmation about the issue, an officer in NPI of Fagge local government area who also pleaded to be anonymous, confirmed the resistance, which he said the stalemate was amicably resolved with prompt intervention of tribal and religious leaders in the area.
He added that the role played by the religious and ethnic leaders of various Sabon Gari communities through massive awareness has made the exercises rebound in hitch-free.
