NYSC DG urges corps members to respect culture of host communities

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.- Gen. Suleiman Kazaure, has charged corps members deployed to Kano State to promote peace and foster unity in Nigeria.

Kazaure made this call at the Kusalla camp, Karaye Local Government Area, Kano, on Friday, when he monitored the inauguration of the Batch B stream 1 of the 2017 NYSC members.

According to him, the main aim of the NYSC scheme is to foster unity and national integration.

“Lack of unity has destroyed many nations; an example is Sudan, which has been at war due to disunity.

“I urge you to embrace team work as it is a great path to achieving success.

“You should serve as role models to other Nigerians, shun ethno-religious differences and embrace one another during and after your service year,’’ he said.

Kazaure, however, warned the NYSC members to desist from illegal ways of making money rather, they should explore their potential and make use of their skills positively.
