PDAC 2018: NCBN, LGC host Nigerian delegates in Toronto
NCBN, in conjunction with Leadership and Governance, recently organized a dinner reception for the Nigeria delegation participating at the ongoing PDAC annual mining convention 2018. The event was held at Kiza Lounge in Toronto, Canada.  
PDAC is an  acronym for the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada; an organization which organizes the annual International Convention, Trade Show & Investors Exchange in Toronto, Canada.
The PDAC annual mining and mineral exploration convention convenes  people, companies and organizations in, or connected with, mineral exploration  from over 130 countries to showcase mining technologies, forge new international partnerships, explore new business frontiers and opportunities with participants, etc.
     In attendance at the dinner reception was the Honourable Minister of State for Mines and Steels Development, honourable Abubakar Bawa-Bwari and his team from Nigeria,  The National chairperson of the Nigerian Canadian Business Network, King Wale Adesanya, Mr. Alex McGregor, a professor at the Toronto Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology, Mr. Sam Adewale, President of Leadership and Governance, members of the diplomatic corp, Academia, Business and thought leaders, etc
Airat Omilabu, NCBN project coordinator  for Toronto, while delivering a presentation on behalf of NCBN showered praise on the visiting delegation from Nigeria for painstakingly travelling thousands of kilometer to promote and market the huge potentials of the Nigeria Metal, Mining and Mineral exploration sector amongst international delegates.
Further, she emphasized NCBN’s preparedness to join efforts with the  Mining Implementation and Strategy Team (MIST) in the attainment of its goals and objectives.  MIST is accountable for the implementation of Ministry’s Roadmap at ensuring the potential of the minerals, mining and metals sector is achieved within a timeframe.
Honourable Abubakra Bawa-Bwari, in his speech, was particularly enthused at the extraordinary sense of patriotism, responsibility and professionalism exhibited by the Nigerian diaspora community in Canada. Importantly, the honourable Minister opined on the need for a robust followup in the aftermath of preliminary engagements at the PDAC  convention ground.
The administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is committed to his promises on delivering on the dividends of democracy through sectoral reforms, performance  and policy direction.  The Honorable minister did pledge his support and commitment in the actualization of the proposed working collaboration with MIST in consultation with the Minister of Mines and Steels Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
  Jackson Igbinosun,VP, Toronto hub, emphasized the need to develop a scheme having the participation and input of the Ministry of Mines and Steels Development / MIST, as well as previously identified Canadian counterparts. The Scheme,  when fully developed and launched, ultimately would serve a conduit for NCBN’s participation in the attainment of the objectives enshrined in the Ministry’s Roadmap.
The dinner reception ceremony was concluded with photo sessions with attendees – Honourable minister of state & members of his delegation, representatives of the Nigerian embassy,  NCBN’s executives, etc.
