Ethiopian Airlines wins NANTA’s most supportive international airline award
The National Association of Nigerian Travel Agents (NANTA), has conferred on Ethiopian Airlines the most Supportive International Airline Award in recognition of its commitment in Nigeria.
A statement by the airline on Monday in Abuja, disclosed that the award was conferred at NANTA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Port Harcourt.
It said the award was presented by the Chairman, Board of Trustees of NANTA, Mr Steve Isokariari to the General Manager of the Airline Mrs Firihewot Mekonnen.
While receiving the award on behalf of Ethiopian airlines, the General Manager, Mekonnen commended the agents for their support and loyalty to the Airline.
She said that Ethiopian Airline had been in Nigeria since November 1960, and was serving five destinations airports in the country.
According to her, ET has stayed in Nigeria even through uncertain times and will continue to stand by Nigeria “the way a brother should’’.
“You may recall the Abuja closure experience last year and how we made the sacrifice of going to Kaduna.
“For the first time, an African airline carried the highest number of passengers out of Nigeria, which is a testimony to the growing relationship between Nigeria and our airline.
“We are very happy to serve Nigerians with the most modern aircraft in the world the Airbus A350 and the B787 Dreamliner along with the B777 aircraft.
“Ethiopian, the new Spirit of African is an example of the African spirit of determination,’’ she said.
