Fagbohun urges degree-awarding institutions to be diligent

The Vice-Chancellor (V-C) of the Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, on Wednesday rewarded the institution’s security unit with a N150,000-cash following their outstanding performance before, during and after the university’s just concluded 22nd Convocation.

Fagbohun announced the reward after he inspected a parade mounted in his honour by the security personnel during his visit to the unit.

It was reported that LASU held its 22nd Convocation on May 23 and May 24 for the award of first and higher degrees.

Fagbohun said that the commitment to duty by the security personnel contributed to the peace and progress recorded in the university before, during and after the ceremony.

The V-C gave a N20,000-cash donation to Mr Adesesan Adebayo who was adjudged the most outstanding security officer during the ceremony.

Fagbohun charged the personnel to continue to maintain and sustain the peace currently being enjoyed in the institution.

Also, Mr Kayode Kolade, the University Chief Security Officer (CSO) thanked the V-Cr for appreciating the unit and recognising their efforts.

“We thank the Vice-Chancellor for appreciating our contributions towards the peace being enjoyed in the institution and the success recorded during the just concluded 22nd Convocation of the university.

“It is so overwhelming that we have a Vice-Chancellor who is fond of saying thank you for any little effort made, “he said.

Mr Wale Anthony, the Principal Assistant Registrar of the university, advised other members of the university security team to emulate the good works of Adebayo and continue to work for the peace and progress of the university.
