210,504 PVCs ready for collection in Taraba – INEC

The Nigerian Youth Mass Support Association (NYMSA), an NGO, has advised registered voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and vote for credible leaders in the 2019 general elections.

Mr Godwin Omonya, National Coordinator of the NGO, gave the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gwagwalada, Federal Capital Territory on Monday.

According to him, the registration by voters and collection of PVCs are very essential to the electorate as well as for the success of the forthcoming general elections.

“I urge all Nigerians to register and collect their PVCs in order to vote leaders of their choice and leaders of proven integrity during the general elections.

“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should also make the collection exercise easier for the electorate by taking the voter cards to the various electoral wards.

“The youth should also vote credible and visionary leaders with fresh minds; PVC is your right to vote and to be voted for,” he said.

He also called on the community leaders and stakeholders to educate their subjects on the importance of registering and collection of their PVCs from INEC.

However, he pleaded with INEC to extend the date for registration of voters to enable maximum participation of the electorate in the general elections.

The coordinator further urged youths not to allow themselves to be used as agents of destruction by politicians during and after the general elections.

Omonya stressed the need for all stakeholders to collaborate with relevant organisations in order to continue to educate people on the need to embrace peace at all times.
