NiMet predicts cloudy skies, rains, thunderstorms for Friday
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted prospects of thunderstorms and rains over the central states of the country on Friday morning.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Wednesday, also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 24 to 32, and 18 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.
It added that there were chances of thunderstorms over Kaduna, Lafia, Jos, Lokoja, Taraba, Makurdi and Lokoja axis during the afternoon and evening hours.
The agency predicted that southern states would experience cloudy conditions, with moderate rains over the South East coasts during the morning hours.
It also predicted prospects of rains over the entire southern region later in the day with day and night temperatures in the range of 28 to 33, and 21 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, Northern States will experience cloudy morning with thunderstorms and rains over Sokoto and Yelwa axis with day and night temperatures of 30 to 33, and 21 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
“Thunderstorms are anticipated over North Eastern axis with cloudy condition over north western part during the afternoon and evening hours.
“Cloudy conditions with prospects of thunderstorms and rains mostly in afternoon and evening period are anticipated over the country within the next 24 hours” NiMet predicts.
