Air Peace signs aircraft spares deal with Embraer

The Nigerian carrier, Air Peace, has signed an aircraft spare parts deal with Embraer, a Brazilian plane manufacturers.

Mrs Oluwatoyin Olajide, the Air Peace Chief Operating Officer, speaking through Mr Chris Iwarah, the organisation Corporate Communications Manager, confirmed the development on Thursday in Lagos.

Olajide said that the deal was unveiled at the ongoing MRO Europe 2018 Summit in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

According to her, Air Peace currently has the biggest fleet of Embraer 145 Jets on the West Coast of Africa.

“The deal is a demonstration of the premium the airline places on safety and maintenance of its fleet,’’ she said.

Olajide said the deal would cover more than 250 components for the six Embraer 145 Jets, which Air Peace recently acquired in line with its drive to connect unserved and underserved domestic and regional routes.

“The Pool and EPEP+ Programmes are natural fit and the best options as they offer sensible, cost effective and practical parts solution to our business, guaranteeing efficiency and competitive results.

“We recognise very good performance of Embraer’s services and support,” she added.

Olajide noted that the deal would make spares readily available for the airline’s maintenance needs, heavily cut down the time spent on maintenance and increase the number of serviceable aircraft available to operate the airline’s flight schedules.

On his parts, Embraer Vice-President, Customers Relationship Management (CRM), Commercial Aviation, Mr John Linn, said the company was humbled to have Air Peace as its customer in Africa.

Linn said it further reinforced Embraer’s commitment to customers in the region with TechCare portfolio of solutions as it Pool Programme leverages increased competitiveness providing repairable solutions through reduced lead times and costs.
