LG chief to renovate abattoir for healthy environment

Mr Mikailu Salihu, the Overseer of Agwada Development Area of Nasarawa State, has pledged to renovate the area abattoir for improved health of the people.

Salihu made this promise in an interview with newsmen on Thursday in Agwada.

According to him, the renovation of the abattoir will go a long way in boosting the health of the people of the area and the state at large.

“I will renovate the abattoir in this area in order to ensure that butchers slaughter animals in a healthy environment.

“A healthy nation is a wealthy nation,” he said.

He advised butchers to always slaughter healthy animals for sale and consumption.

The council chief told butchers that a clean environment would always attract more customers and urged them to maintain a tidy environment for their safety.

Salihu also urged residents of the area to keep their environment clean in their own interest.

He vowed to work on policies and programmes that would promote peace and development in the area and the state at large.
