NiMet predicts cloudy, sunny weather for Tuesday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted dust hazy conditions over most parts of the country with cloudy sky and scattered thunderstorms over some southern cities on Wednesday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Tuesday in Abuja, predicted moderate dust haze condition over the central region throughout the forecast period.

It added that the region would have day and night temperatures in the ranges of 27 to 35 and 13 to 21 degrees Celsius respectively.

The agency predicted that the northern states would experience dust haze condition with visibility range of two to five kilometres throughout the forecast period.

It also predicted that Katsina, Kano and Nguru would experience visibility less than 1000km during the forecast period with day and night temperatures of 28 to 33 and 11 to 18 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, Southern States will experience hazy conditions over the inland cities during the forecast period with day and night temperatures of 32 to 36 and 18 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.

“However, early morning mists are expected over the coastal cities with chances of scattered thunderstorm over Yenegoa, Ijebu-Ode, Ikeja and Warri axis and cloudy conditions over the rest parts in the afternoon and evening hours.

“Harmattan dust and its dryness is gradually being observed over the country and there are slim chances of scattered thunderstorms over some parts of the coastal cities in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.
