Bello commiserates with victims of Minna market fire disaster
Gov.Abubakar Bello of Niger on Friday commiserated with victims of fire that gutted part of the Abdulkadir Kure Ultra Modern Market, Minna, destroying property worth millions of naira.
Our correspondent report that over 18 blocks of shops loaded with palm oil were gutted by fire in the early hours of Friday.
Bello gave assurance that the state government would give necessary support to the victims to reduce impact of their loss.
He, however, advised the traders to be more vigilant of their environment in order to prevent future re-occurrence.
“It is unfortunate that we are experiencing this at this time, but we cannot question God of why it happened.
“We express our sincere heartfelt sympathy to the victims and pray God to replenish all that has been lost.
“We will give our support as government and also urged you to always be conscious of your environment to prevent this type of disaster,” he said.
Meanwhile, Alhaji Ibrahim Inga, Director-General, State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), said that over 18 blocks of shops were gutted by the fire.
He said that the cause of fire was yet to be known, adding that investigation was ongoing to know the actual cause of the fire.
