NiMet predicts cloudy, sunny weather for Tuesday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted sunny, dust haze and partly cloudy weather conditions over most parts of the country, with prospect of localised thunderstorms over parts of southern states on Monday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook on Sunday in Abuja, predicted sunny to hazy condition over the central region in the morning, with day and night temperatures of 34 to 37 and 18 to 27 degrees Celsius respectively.

It also predicted chances of partly cloudy conditions over Abuja, Makurdi, Nassarawa, Kogi, and Kwara, as well as localised thunderstorms over Mambilla Plateau in the afternoon and evening period.

The agency predicted that the Northern States would experience dust haze condition and chances of partly cloudy condition over Yelwa axis, with day and night temperatures of 34 to 37 and 13 to 17 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, Southern States will experience partly cloudy to cloudy morning with prospects of localised thunderstorms over Lagos and Ijebu-Ode, with day and night temperatures of 32 to 37 and 25 to 26 degrees Celsius respectively.

“Later in the day, localized thunderstorms are likely over Ado-Ekiti, Akure, Lagos, Obudu, Ogoja, Uyo, Enugu, Calabar, Port-Harcourt, Eket, Yenegoa and Ikom axis in the afternoon and evening hours.

“Dust haze condition is anticipated over the North, while partly cloudy to sunny to hazy conditions are likely over the central.

“Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected over inland and coast, with chances of localised thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening period within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.
