I’ll accept people’s verdict, says Bauchi Gov.
Bauchi State Governor Mohammed Abubakar says he will accept the outcome of the people’s verdict on the governorship election in the state.
Abubakar made the announcement in Bauchi on Saturday after casting his vote at the Makama Sarki Bakin ‘B’ unit at 9.55 a.m.
“I will accept what the people have chosen because I know power comes from God and He gives power to whoever He wants.
“The current voting pattern is more orderly than the previous election and I want to reassure you that I will accept whatever the come out.
“It is more orderly because my family and I came and within no time we were accredited and we cast our votes,” the governor said.
On low turnout of voters, he said: “this is just 9.55 a.m., therefore, it is too early to say that it recorded low turnout of voters.”
He, however, pleaded with people of the state to be peaceful during and after the elections.
The governor’s, Hajiya Aisha, who also cast her vote at the same unit, described the election as “more orderly”.
According to her, it seems INEC has improved seriously on the election process.
Our correspondent reports that the election witnessed low turnout of voters, especially at polling stations within the Bauchi metropolis.
