Edo Govt to invest N2bn in school furniture production – Obaseki

Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo has attributed victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the March 9 State House of Assembly election to the collective efforts of party leaders and supporters.

Obaseki spoke on Tuesday at an Expanded APC caucus meeting at the Government House, Benin.

“It is all about gratitude to God and all of you for accepting the challenge to deliver the party,” the governor said.

He said that the 2019 general elections had rekindled his hope for Nigeria democracy, and a call to operate an all-inclusive government.

“Edo will continue to align with the Federal Government to attract positive development to the state as the only APC-controlled state in the South-South of Nigeria.

“The party and my administration will continue to run an all-inclusive government,” the governor said.

Obaseki said that the party’s victory meant more responsibilities to live up to the confidence reposed in the elected officers by the electorate.

Earlier, the APC Chairman in Edo, Mr Anselm Ojezua, said that the party’s victory in the state assembly polls showed the confidence of people in the Gov. Obaseki-led administration.

“The results of last Saturday election speak volumes of what the Edo citizens think about the APC and the governor of the state.

“It also speaks volume of the leadership of the party.”

Ojezua said that there was no rift between Obaseki and leadership of the party.

“There is nothing the governor has done that the party is not in support of or part of,” he said.
