NIMC says National e-ID Card transfer available at Collection Centres

The Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation Worldwide (NIDOWW), in collaboration with various stakeholders says it will from March 30, begin mobilisation of its members for enrolment in the national identity database.

The organisation in a statement signed by its continental chairs and made available to newsmen on Monday in Abuja, said that the enrollment was a follow up to the pre-enrollment exercise that took place during the Diaspora Global Development Conference in London in July, 2018.

NIDOWW said that the inauguration of the pre-enrollment was performed by Ms Hadiza Alli, the General Manager, Legal, Regulations and Compliance Services of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

The organisation said that the pre-enrollment demonstration was conducted by Biosec Solutions, an Identity Management Consultant and NIDOWW strategic enrollment partner.

“To ensure a successful official inauguration, NIDO Worldwide in collaboration with all Diaspora organisations request all its continental bodies to mobilise their members for the enrolment.

“The enrolment is to ensure that all Nigerians in Diaspora are well documented in the National Identity Management System of the Federal Government,” the organisation said.

According to the organisation, apart from the fact that the National Identification Numbers (NIN) is mandatory for all Nigerians, it also has important social and economic implications for the Diaspora.

It called on its members to visit Diaspora partner designated link as directed by the continental Chairmen for pre-enrollment and appointment for biometric data capture.

“Once an appointment is secured, you will be directed to the official designated locations for the biometric data capture,” it added.
