Akeredolu promises enabling environment for investors in Ondo
Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State on Tuesday reiterated his resolve to create an enabling environment and put up life-changing infrastructure toward attracting private sector investments to the state.
Akeredolu said this in Akure during a visit to him by the Ajobu-in-Council and leaders of Araromi-Obu in Odigbo Local Government Area.
He said that the present administration was determined to actualise the investment potential of the state through facilitation and partnership with willing and competent private sector operators.
The governor said the commencement of wok on the bitumen exploration in Agbabu, within the southern senatorial area, would take off in a matter of weeks.
According to him, the Chinese investment at the Ondo-Linyi Industrial Park in Ore is also an example of his administration’s commitment to industrialise the state.
Earlier, Oba Aderemi Adelola, the Ajobu of Araromi-Obu, congratulated Gov. Akeredolu for the success recorded in the recently concluded House of Assembly election.
Also, Mr Bisoye Monebi, Chairman, Araromi-Obu Development Community, said Araromi is a fertile, agrarian community bordered by Ogun state, with so many important projects sited there.
“We are aware that the government is embarking on the construction of roads linking Araromi seaside to Lekki in Lagos State.
“It is a huge project and we know the economic importance of assessing those areas through land from Lagos.
“We are equally aware of the proposed Bitumen project that subsequent governments had put in the pipeline but hasn’t come to fruition.
“We know you are a man of your words and will do as you said,” he said.
Monebi lamented the deplorable condition of the General Hospital in Araromi, and requested for facilities, personnel, and drugs for the facility.
Similarly, Oba Sunday Amuseghan, the Kalasuwe of Apoi land, has also appealed for hospital equipment, personnel, and drugs in his area.
Amuseghan made the appeal in Akure when he visited Gov. Akeredolu.
He thanked the governor for infrastructure development across the state and promised his unalloyed support for the government.
Amuseghan appealed to the government to extend more infrastructure development projects to the area, especially in the area of roads.
