FG promises to accord priority to implementation of economic recovery, growth plan
The Federal Government promises to accord priority to the implementation of Economic Recovery and Growth Plan across the subnational level.
President Muhammadu Buhari gave the assurance in his good will message at the Fourth Edition of Kaduna Economic and Investment Summit on Wednesday in Kaduna.
According to him, the present administration along with private sector would help to create sustainable jobs and prosperity for the people.
The President commended Dangote and OPC Africa, for investing considerable capital in Agribusiness sector, which is inline with the effort of diversifying the nation’s economy.
“As you focus on the theme of the KadInvest 4.0, ‘Expanding investment Frontiers’, it is my hope that the summit will result in additional fruitful public private partnerships and beneficial collaboration”.
He noted that the collaboration will bring in economic prosperity for people of Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.
He explained that in the last four years he noticed the determination of the KDSG, to create its credentials as an investment destination.
“Given the intense global competition for investment funds, adding that the efforts received a just recognition in the state with committed private sector investment in access to US500 million, and also being ranked 1st in world bank doing business reports 2018.
In a special message at the occasion, the Governor disclosed that since the first edition in 2016, KADInvest had connected with investors continually as government has not relented in creating policy environment and institutions that anchor and promote business friendly ethos.
Kaduna State Governor, Nasiru El-Rufai, said the economic investment summit connected government with investors and development partners, to utilise the natural resources that abound in the state.
“I am delighted to report that investors have taken notice of our efforts and have responded by putting their money, people and know-how into our state.
“We welcome the recognition of our efforts by the World Bank’s Doing Business Report of 2018, which ranked Kaduna as number one in Ease of Doing Business.”
Gov. El-Rufai assured of his government’s efforts to continue to implement innovations showcased at previous editions of KADInvest, especially the state development plan, tax consolidation and codification code and development of a digital land registry.
“All our agencies recognise their responsibility to implement the Ease of Doing Business Charter, to simplify processed and to flexibly support investments,” he explained.
He commended the support it receives from the Federal Government and development partners.
“As a sub-national, our policies and innovations frequently require the strong backing of our partners. These are challenging times but as ever, Kaduna is open for business.
KADINVEST 4.0 is a platform created by the state government as part of it’s governance strategy, to attract investor’s attention to develop the state, create jobs and also expand it’s revenue base.
