Akeredolu advises new Ondo Assembly members to justify confidence of electorate
Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has advised new lawmakers of the State House of Assembly to work hard in order to justify the confidence reposed in them by the electorate.
It was reported that the 9th Assembly was inaugurated on Monday, when its principal officials were also elected.
Akeredolu, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olusegun Ajiboye, in Akure, also hailed the peaceful election of principal officers of the House.
He said that it was proof of the maturity of the members and their readiness to work for the development of the state.
The governor congratulated the Speaker, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun, and the Deputy Speaker, Iroju Ogundeji, for their re-election to lead the House.
Akeredolu said he looked forward to a harmonious working relationship that would fast-track the development of the state and deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
