UNIBEN postpones resumption date to Aug. 11

The Management of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), has extended the resumption for the staff members and students until further notice due to the Coronavirus pandemic in the state.

Dr Benedicta Ehanire, the Public Relations Officer of the University, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Benin.

“According to her, this is in the wake of the continuous uncertainties regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

”And in line with the position of the Federal Ministry of Education that no date has been fixed for the reopening of schools, UNIBEN has extended resumption until further notice.

“However, members of staff are to keep working from home.”

“It is important to point out that staff on essential duties, including health care, security, fire service and utilities (electricity and water) are to continue to make the necessary sacrifices while observing all the safety rules,” she said.

Ehanire advised the general public to obey the directive of the Federal Government by practicing social distancing.
