Nigeria records 64 new cases of COVID-19, total now 1337
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Monday, confirmed 64 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic outbreak in the country.
This brings the total number of infections in Nigeria to 1337.
The NCDC, in a tweet on Monday night said that 91 of the new infections were recorded in various states, 34-Lagos, 15-FCT, 11-Borno, while two each were from Taraba and Gombe states.
The centre said no deaths were recorded in Nigeria in the last 24 hours and no new state has reported a case.
The NCDC added that as of 11:20 p.m. on April 27 there were 1337 confirmed cases of the coronavirus reported in Nigeria.
According to the agency, Nigeria has 1040 Active Cases Recorded by 11:50pm, on April 27, while 255 infected persons had been treated and discharged and 40 deaths were recorded.
NCDC said that one case previously reported as a Lagos State case, is now reported as an FCT case and the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos is now at 764 and 157 in FCT.
It was reported that more than three million cases of coronavirus have been officially registered across the world, with nearly 80 per cent in Europe and the U. S.
According to a tally by AFP at 2050 GMT Monday using official figures.
At least 3,003,344 infections have been detected, including 209,388 deaths, mostly in Europe where there are 1,393,779 cases and 126,233 deaths.
