Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State on Friday urged workers to partner with government in the battle against the COVID-19 by complying with laid down directives.
Akeredolu made the plea in a statement signed by his media aide, Mr Segun Ajiboye, on the occasion of the 2020 International Worker’s Day celebration.
The governor, who said that labour unions were partners in progress with government, commended workers in the state for their understanding and support
The support of workers, he said, had enabled his administration to serve the state better.
According to him, the maturity being exhibited by workers and their leaders has given hope for a mutually beneficial relationship.
Akeredolu also said that the state needed sustained and robust engagements between workers and the government in the efforts to meet the demands of workers and citizens.
