Alhaji Bala Sani-Kangiwa, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State, says the dissolution of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) by the National Executive Council (NEC) has saved APC from self-destruction.

Sani-Kangiwa made this known to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday while reacting to the dissolution.

He said the action was not only timely, but it had ultimately saved APC from implosion.

According to him, the dissolution of the NWC remained the best and only option to bring an end to lingering disagreements.

“We endorsed the action taken by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party to dissolve the National Working Committee (NWC) and appoint a caretaker committee to run its affairs.

”We must commend President Muhammadu Buhari and APC Governors led by Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State for working tirelessly to preserve the unity of the party,” said the chairman.

While also commending the media for its cooperation to the party, Sani-Kangiwa however urged journalists to maintain the tempo for the good of the party and the nation at large.

The chairman appealed to party supporters at all levels to support the dissolution in order to stabilise the party and ensure its success at polls.

On Edo and Ondo States upcoming governorship elections scheduled for September and October this year, Sani-Kangiwa expressed confidence that APC would emerge victorious.

Similarly, Alhaji Sani Dododo, the State Publicity Secretary of the party, applauded journalists in the state for enlightening the people on dangers surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Dododo advised the public to maintain social distancing as well as abide by all other guidelines of the State Task Force to contain COVID-19.
