Director urges corps members to positively impact on host communities
Mrs Zainab Isa, Director, North West Area Office of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has urged corps members to impact positively on their host communities.
This was contained in a statement issued in Sokoto on Friday by NYSC Spokesperson in the state, Sani Idris.
According to the statement, Isa gave the advice while addressing the 2021, Batch B, Stream I, Corps members deployed to Sokoto State at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Wamakko, during her visit to orientation camps under her jurisdiction.
Isa said that the only way corps members could impact positively was by embarking on meaningful community development projects for their host communities
Isa advised corps members to obey all the rules and regulations of the orientation course.
she noted this was in order to have a hitch-free orientation exercise as well as subsequent posting of the corps members for their primary assignments.
The director advised the corps members to actively participate and key into the ongoing Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training.
According to Isa, this is in a bid to create wealth for themselves as well as become employers of labour.
Speaking earlier, the State Coordinator of NYSC, Alhaji Mohammed Nakamba, said adequate arrangements had been made to ensure the success of the orientation course, including the welfare and security of the corps members.
