Independence: Disability Commission lauds Buhari’s commitment to well-being Persons With Disabilities
The National Commission for Persons with Disability (NCPWD) has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for his commitment on the well being and rights of Persons with Disability (PWDs) in the country.
Mr James Lalu, Executive Secretary, NCPWD, said this in a statement by Mr Mbanefo JohnMichaels, the Head of Media and Publicity of the Commission on Friday in Abuja.
“We are very proud of President Muhammadu Buharii; he is the only President we know for his support and vision in recognising the contributions of PWDs towards the development of Nigeria.”
“We appreciate him, for directing all government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to always pay attention to the peculiarities of different abilities in the implementation of government policies and programmes,” he said.
Lalu further called on state governors and Chief Executive Officers of MDAs to emulate Buhari’s gesture in their respective domains.
He, however, advised all Nigerians especially the PWDs to be thankful to God for Nigeria’s 61st independent anniversary, urging them to reflect on its divine moral lessons by striving to abstain from all immoral acts and obscenity.
“Let us reflect on God’s love for us Nigerians and learn to co-exist peacefully,” he said.
