The Kano state government has offered automatic employment to a blindman, Dahiru Abdulhamid-Idris, who has been teaching voluntarily in the state.

The Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje, Mr Abba Anwar, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday, in Kano.

He quoted the governor as directing the commissioner for education, Alhaji Sanusi Saidu-Kiru, to post the visually impaired person to Tudun Maliki Special education school.

“You are a real model, whose visual impairment does not stand as a stumbling block to your development. You have been taking the right step in your life.

“The Kano state government is giving you automatic employment of teaching. And I have directed the state Commissioner for Education to post you to Tudun Maliki Special Education School,” the statement quoted the governor as saying.
