Youth Assembly wants Buhari to investigate attack on Abuja-Kaduna train track
The Northern Youths Assembly of Nigeria (NYAN), has called on the Federal Government to investigate the recent attack on Abuja-Kaduna train track and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The Speaker of the assembly, Malam Ibrahim Lawal, in a statement on Monday in Abuja, also called on the Federal Government to put more security surveillance in place to checkmate the activities of criminal elements disrupting the activities of the Nigeria Railway Operation.
“We are worried about the latest attack on train tracks along Kaduna-Abuja and we use this medium to call on the Federal Government and Nigeria’s military to be more proactive in the fight against terrorism in the country.
“It is very imperative for the Federal Government to put more security Intelligence around worship centres, schools, markets and petroleum pipelines, as terrorists are shifting attacks on economic activities in the region.
“If the attack is not curtailed, it will cause more hardship to citizens and disconnect them from the global world. Anybody that is found incompetent on his duty should be relieved from his duty,” he said.
Lawal restated the commitment of northern youth to continue to cooperate with the Federal Government to end insurgency, banditry, kidnappings and other security challenges bedevilling the country.
