APC govs harp on youths inclusion in governance for national devt

The All Progressive Congress (APC) Governors’ Forum, has urged political leaders to bring youths into governance to facilitate blended ideas for rapid national development.

Chairman of the Forum, Gov. Atiku Bagudu, made the call at an event organised to celebrate youths and women inclusion in governance, on Friday in Birnin Kebbi.

It was reported that the pioneer event was organised by the office of the APC Youth Leader, North West, Kebbi Progressives Stakeholders and the National Association of Kebbi State Entrepreneurs.

NAN also reports that the event was designed to showcase laudable achievements of the party in Kebbi State and Nigeria at large.

Bagudu, who described youths as the engine room of any nation, said that, “President Muhammadu Buhari is ceaselessly according top priority to the youths in his policies, programmes and appointments.

“We must bring the youths into governance and always be ready to support them when they take risks which we expect them to take to enable them to succeed.”

He expressed delight that the state was abundantly blessed with brilliant, bold and courageous young men and women who have been making invaluable contributions locally and internationally.

The governor also acknowledged the contributions of youths to his administration, public service, and people of the state.”

In his remarks, Alhaji Ismail Ahmed, APC National Youths Leader, lauded the governor for his leadership qualities and contributions towards ensuring even development across the state.

“The future of Nigeria belongs to the youths and Bagudu has lived above board,” he said.

Ahmed said that the governor accorded young people opportunities to actively involve in the administration in the state.

On his part, the North-West Youth Leader of the party, Malam Sadiq Saadu-Fakai, said the event was organised to appreciate the governor for his role in promoting youths inclusiveness in governance.

“It is also to showcase the various sterling achievements of APC administration at all levels,” he said.

Also, Muhammadu Abubakar-Kana, APC Chairman in the state, commended the governor for providing enabling environment for the youths to excel.

It was reported that the event featured panel discussion on youth and women inclusion and sucesss in governance.
