Oluwo lauds Oyetola for priortising traditional rulers’ welfare
The Oluwo of Iwo in Osun, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, has lauded the state governor, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, for prioritising the welfare of traditional rulers in the state.
Akanbi made the commendation while receiving the governor in his palace when he paid courtesy visit to the traditional ruler as part of his strategic tour visitation to Iwo.
The oba said that Oyetola had demonstrated exemplary leadership by prioritising the welfare of traditional rulers in the state.
“Many obas will not say it; I can not pretend that I am not collecting it, he is paying us monthly,” Oluwo declared.
According to him, Iwo is fortunate during the tenure of Oyetola and only a fool will reject such gestures from the governor.
The traditional ruler added that Oyetola had done well through the delivery of the dividends of democracy to his subjects.
“We are seeing good roads, the civil servants that were previously begging around have stopped, because the era of half salary is long gone.”
“He is paying full salary, civil servants are very important. I am not slandering anybody. Let us follow the one who knows the way,” he said.
Akanbi assured the governor that the people of Iwo would not betray him, promising that the governor would be re-elected for a second term in office.
Earlier, Oyetola thanked the people of Iwo for their unalloyed support.
He, however, solicited for their votes during the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.
