2023 : Assembly aspirant pledges to dedicate salary, allowances to Nsukka constituents
Chief Oliver Ozioko, a House of Assembly aspirant for Nsukka West Constituency in Enugu State says if elected in 2023, he will dedicate his salary and allowances for empowerment of constituents.
Ozioko, popularly known as ‘Oliver Plaza’ an aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) disclosed this on Monday at Nsukka party secretariat in Nsukka Local Government Area while declaring his intention to contest.
He said that, he was not going to the assembly to make money but to use his salary and allowances to empower more people in the constituency.
“By God’s grace, you all know that I have made money through my business as a car dealer.
“My mission in the assembly is to residents effective representation, attract infrastructures and use my salary and allowances to empower more people.
“I have empowered many people especially youths with my personal money and will continue to do that even if I win or lose,” he said.
“As a loyal party member, I will support whosever the party elect as candidate if it’s not me morally and financially.
“As a loyal party fathful I believe in the supremacy of the party, I am not contesting the seat as a do or die affair,” he said.
The aspirant said he was proud of Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as the party leader and governor of the state.
The philanthropist noted that the excellent performance of Ugwuanyi administration had made Enugu State the best state in the country.
The businessman however commended Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi’s administration for massive infrastructural development in the three senatorial districts of the state.
“The governor carries everyone along both PDP members and non PDP members.
“Ugwuanyi operates open door policy, that is why everybody is happy with him and the reason Enugu State is rated as the most peaceful and progressive state in the country,” he said.
Ozioko said he was compelled to contest because of his love and desire to better the lot of the constituency, provide quality representation, as well as impact more positively in the life of the constituents.
“I solicit that you give me your support and your vote during the primary election as well as vote for me during the general election.
“if elected I will not disappoint you rather I will ensure I move the constituency to the next level,” Ozioko said.
Responding, Mr Fabian Onah, the PDP chairman in Nsukka, promised that the party would provide equal playing ground to all aspirants to ensure the best candidate emerged.
Onah commended Ozioko for his philanthropic gestures and empowerment of many constituents and urged him to keep it up
