Rep donates N100m to off-set SSCE fees, cars, motorcycles to constituents

Rep. Yusuf Gagdi (APC-Plateau) has presented a cheque for N100m to offset the Senior School Certificate Examination fees of all final year students in his constituency.

Gagdi, representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency of the state, presented the cheque to Elders Advisory Council of the constituency on Wednesday in Pankshin.

According to the lawmaker, the gesture was to support the educational pursue of the children of poor in his constituency.

He explained that the money would be used to pay the registration fees for both the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) and the National Examination Council (NECO) of the students.

According to him, the money is the proceeds of his personal investment and not part of his constituency projects.

”This gesture is part of my campaign promises and my personal efforts to better the lots of my constituents.

”This money will be used by the Elders Advisory Council of our constituency to offset the WEAC and NECO registration fees for our students.

”Those who have paid for WAEC already will have their monies refunded to them.

”From our assessment, the total sum is N160 million, but we are presenting the cheque of N100 million today for payment to commence.

”This gesture is to enable the children of the poor in this constituency to access qualitative education with ease,” he said.

Gagdi, who did not mention the number of students to benefit from the gesture, said that students in public, private and missionary secondary schools in the constituency were captured.

The lawmaker also donated nine 406 cars and 360 motorcycles to some of his constituents.

On the forthcoming primary elections of the party, the lawmaker advised delegates to vote credible aspirants that would take the party to victory in the general polls.
