Shettima tasks group on mobilisation for Tinubu’s candidature

Mr Kashim Shettima, Vice-presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has implored a support group of the party, ‘National Integrity Movement (ANIM)’, on mobilisation of votes for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to emerge as president in the 2023 elections

Shettima said this when the executive members of ANIM paid him a courtesy visit to him on Monday in Abuja.

According to him, Tinubu has excellent track records of service delivery with qualitative leadership, while he has groomed men and women who had excelled in their different careers.

“I will never get tired of telling people that when he became the governor of Lagos state, he did a lot to change the face of the state.

“Lagos was one hell of a place, it was a huge place, and the fear of Lagos then was the beginning of wisdom, but Bola Tinubu changed all of that,” he said.

The ex-Borno Governor said that through Tinubu’s handwork then, the state’s internally generated revenue grew from N6 million to N61 billion monthly.

Shettima said that Lagos was now the fifth largest economy in Africa and it has been projected to be the third largest economy in April.

“Even with its multicultural diversity, Lagos has become the most peaceful state in Nigeria, and this is due to the leadership qualities laid when he was a governor.

“So, we must judge people by the content of their character irrespective of differences in political affiliations, religious persuasion or their backgrounds.

“The truth of the matter is, Asiwaju has the track records, and we are prepared to have a conversation on how to get the nation out of the hood.

“We want to create jobs, alleviate the suffering of Nigerians and by God grace move the country forward,” he said.

Shettima urged the group to do more in their mobilisation for the candidature of Tinubu.

The leader of the group, Mr Abubakar Saadu said the visit was to rally support for the party’s candidates in the 2023 General Elections.

“The APC National Integrity Movement is a group that encompasses various people from all works of life cutting across the six geopolitical zones of the country.

“We want to strategise on ways to ensure that APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his vice are voted in the upcoming 2023 General Elections,” he said.

Saadu also said that President Muhammadu Buhari had made a lot of efforts in enhancing the socio-economic development and the well-being of Nigerians was improved.

He added, “there is the need to ensure that giant step is maintained and APC as a party is what Nigerians have confidence in.”
