The Kano State House of Assembly passed the Aliko Dangote Skills Acquisition Centre Bill 2022 on Tuesday after scaling through the third reading.

After considering the bill clause by clause, the House, presided over by the Speaker, Alhaji Hamisu Chidari unanimously gave consent to the passage.

Speaking shortly after the plenary session, the Majority Leader, Alhaji Labaran Madari (APC-Warawa) said that the centre would address the problem of unemployment among women and youths in the state.

“Providing the law will also give room for vocational skills acquisition to be autonomous and reduce unemployment rate in the society.

“This is one of the programmes through which government intends to create jobs,” he explained.

Madari said the centre would be headed by a council and a principal with tenures of four years each.
