1 die, 7 injured in lone accident in Niger

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed one person dead, and seven others injured in a lone accident that occurred on Monday at Lanle Shebe village, Lavun Local Government Area of Niger.

Mr Kuwar Tsukwam, state Sector Commander of the corps, who confirmed the incident to our reporter in Minna on Tuesday, said that the accident occurred at about 13:45 hours on Monday.

Tsukwam said the accident involved a Sharon commercial bus with registration number NBS 854 AA coming from New Bussa to Bida.

“Eight persons were involved in the accident, one of them died, while seven sustained injuries.

“The body of the dead person and the injured victims were taken to Kutigi General Hospital and the vehicle involved handed over to the police in Kutigi for further investigation,” he said.

Tsukwam blamed the crash on speeding, and advised motorists to always observe speed limits to avoid crashes.
