Dr Dikko Radda, Katsina State APC governorship candidate says his quest to secure the mandate of the people to serve as governor, is not a do or die affair.

“My contest is not a do or die affair, wherever the pendulum swings at the end of the elections, I will accept it and move on.

“I have the absolute belief that the Almighty God gives and takes leadership to whosoever He wishes at the time He ordains,” he told a forum of Katsina state indigenes resident in Abuja.

It was reported that the interactive session with Katsina state indigenes resident in Abuja was to secure their buy-in and support for his candidature.

Radda said: “As Governor of Katsina State, if elected, I will lead an administration that aims to build the people’s future, this is why my policy document, which I present, is titled ‘Building Your Future’.

“Some have asked why I am focusing on the future when there are problems now, my answer is that, when you start to build for the future, you will take actions to fix the issues we face now.”

The APC governorship candidate said his strategic policies were not empty promises, but well thought out strategies for implementation if elected governor.

“It is also not a document drawn by consultants fully detached from me or my vision.

“I have invested in developing my strategic policies, I have been doing this for more than a year by working with various experts across critical policy areas.

“The Building Your Future Strategic Document is designed to be implemented fully when the resources permit,” he said.

Radda explained that the strategic policies would be driven by a completely reformed public sector administration to ensure delivery of quality public service.

The APC governorship candidate pledged to ensure local governments autonomy, and investment in qualitative education and skills development to prepare the youth for the future.

“Social care will assist the most vulnerable in our society through meaningful programmes.

“Our healthcare programme will be driven by quality medical services that are affordable and accessible to people.

“MSMEs will be a driving force in Katsina state and I will establish a dedicated support office for MSMEs.

“Agriculture is a competitive and comparative advantage source for Katsina state and my administration will develop the entire agricultural value chain,” he added.

Radda promised to work with communities to build a strong community-based security system for the state.

On revenue generation, the APC governorship candidate said he would improve economic capacity of the people and not tax them unnecessarily.

“My vision for internally generated revenue is not to take money from people but to increase their economic capacities and work as partners through taxes to develop even more wealth for the people.

“Building Your Future’ will require everyone to participate in our vision and I will call on you to start by contributing to our project.
”We are committed and our sincerity of purpose will be unwavering.

“I will be responsible for leading the initiatives we have put forward; I shall hold everyone to very high standard if given a chance to implement our policies.”

Sen. Ibrahim Idah, who chaired the event, said the interaction was organised to give the indigenes of the state resident in Abuja the opportunity to assess the candidate and his policies.

He said that this would enable them take informed decision in electing the best governor for the state.

Idah, who is also the Wazirin Katsina said,”this is to ensure that Katsina state continue to excel in all spheres of human endeavours.”

Mr Ahmed Dangiwa, Director-General, Katsina State APC Governorship Campaign Council, said that the meeting was the fourth organised by the council to interact with stakeholders.

“We have visited all the 34 local governments of the state and this event is part of the efforts to brainstorm with the various stakeholders.

“These efforts are aimed at giving the citizens of the state the opportuinity to vote for the right person who will develop the state,” Danigiwa, a former Managing Director, Federal Mortgage Bank, said.
