The Police Command in Benue on Monday arraigned one Emmanuel Terese at a Makurdi Upper Area Court 2 for alleged criminal conspiracy, trespass, house breaking and theft.

The Police Prosecutor, Insp Veronica Shaagee, told the court that the case was reported at the ‘E’ Division Police Station Makurdi by Ms Lois Audu of Mercy Yilase Street, Gyado Villa, Makurdi on Nov. 10.

“Three days after, the suspects broke into her house in her absence and stole her foot wear valued at N35,000.”

The prosecutor said that Terese and Agbo were, however, seen by a witness.

She said that during investigation, Terese was arrested and confessed to the crime while Agbo is still at large.

She said that the accused contravened the Penal Code Law Cap 124 (2004) of Benue State.

Shaagee said investigation into the matter was ongoing and requested for additional time to complete it.

However, the accused denied the allegations leveled against him.

The Magistrate, Mr Vershima Hwande, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum who shall be a civil servant with a fixed address.
