Anambra PPRO, Ikenga, bags best crisis communication manager In Southeast

Mr Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer of Anambra Command has emerged the Best Crisis Communication Manager On Security Affairs, among spokespersons of security agencies in the Southeast.

Ikenga, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, was adjudged the best crisis communication manager at the Police Public Relations Officers conference in Ibadan, Oyo State by the panel of jury headed by Air Commodore Yusuf Anas Rtd.

Anas said since the appointment of Ikenga as Anambra Command Police Spokesperson, he had demonstrated professionalism in managing conflict and sensitive issues.

He said the PPRO had been able to achieve that through effective media relations, constructive stakeholders engagement and responsible timely responses to enquiries.

Receiving the Certificate of Excellence, Ikenga thanked God for His mercies and also appreciated the police hierarchy for giving him the opportunity to serve as well as having confidence in his ability to deliver.

“I want to thank IGP Usman Alkali Baba, AIG Abutu Yaro in charge of Zone 13, and my direct boss CP Echeng Echeng for their guidance and for believing in me.

“I want to dedicate this award to CP Frank Mba and other persons who have impacted my career,” he said.

Some top Police officers at the event were DIG Johnson Babatunde Kokumo, in charge of Force Criminal Investigations Department, the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State, the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi among others.

DSP Ikenga joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet ASP on the Dec. 31 2016 and until his posting as the Command PPRO, he was a Staff Officer at the Force Public Relations Department,FHQ Abuja.

He holds a B.Sc in Psychology from Enugu State University of Science and Technology and is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
