Enugu residents laud INEC over smooth distribution of PVCs

Some residents of Enugu State have lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the smooth distribution of the Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) in the state.

The electorate, who spoke to our reporter in Enugu on Thursday, expressed satisfaction with the exercise so far.

Those who collected their PVCs expressed joy over the smooth process of the distribution of the cards.

They commended the INEC for making it possible for residents to collect their cards without much complaint.

Mr Ebuka Onyema, one of those who collected his at the Enugu South Local Government, told NAN that it did not take much of the time in getting his own card.

Mr Henry Uzochukwu said he was asked to come back on Thursday when he came on Tuesday as his would be ready for collection on the said day he was told to return.

He said it was a thing of joy as he was handed over his card to him without searching for so long.

Miss Uche Ikechukwu also added that the process was a smooth one.

It was reported that the process was arranged according to wards as every official of the commission attended to people according to wards given to them to handle.

The Assistant Electoral Officer, Operations, Mrs Bukola Ukwuani said the reason for the collection of the cards according to wards was to make the process smooth and to avoid waste of time.

She urged the residents to present their slip so as to have proper records of those who had collected theirs.

It was reported that INEC begin the distribution of the PVCs from Dec. 12 in line with the electoral process and timetable.
