The police charged Deborah John and Bekky Bakari with three counts of criminal conspiracy, force and theft.
They however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Swem Frank told the court that the complainant reported the matter at the Divisional Police Station, Masaka, Nasarawa State on Dec. 18.

He said the complainant’s cell phone fell and the defendants took it.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 97, 265 and 287 of the Penal Code.

The judge, Yakubu Dangana, however, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 each with a reliable surety each in like sum.

Dangana adjourned the case until Jan. 24.
