The Movement for the Survival of Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND) has endorsed Sim Fubara, gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers.

Mr Ibiwari Green, Chairman, Eastern Zone, MOSIEND gave the endorsement in a statement he issued in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

He said that MOSIEND, a socio-cultural group, decided to support Fubara – handpicked by Gov. Nyesom Wke for the sake of justice, equity and fairness.

He said “MOSIEND, a foremost socio-cultural mass mobilization organisation advocating for justice, equity and fairness took this stand after an extraordinary meeting.

“After carefully considering the pulse of the state and candidates in the race, we endorsed the governorship ambition of Sir Siminialayi Joseph Fubara of the PDP.

“We chose Fubara because of his peaceful disposition, professional excellence, enviable record of service and avowed commitment to continue in the development of the state,” he said.

Green said aside Fubara’s outstanding contribution to the state that his candidacy also aligned with the group’s blueprint of ‘Reorientation, Reposition and Recovery of lost values’.

According to him, the PDP governorship candidate’s political ideology and alignment was in tandem with MOSIEND’s dream for a better, safer and prosperous Niger Delta.

“As Rivers people, we have been unable to manage our successes as we ought to over time but we see the possibility of a new dawn in his (Fubara’s) government.

“We believe he will encourage more youth, human resource development and equity participation when elected.

“We consider him a right fit for the job and urge all our members from our clans across the state; all Rivers sons, daughters and residents to vote Fubara on March 18,” he pleaded.

Green said a vote for Fubara would lead to further development and economic growth of the state.
